Front chassis Rails???

Post by Alex's EK »

Hey guys,

The rails that the subframe bolts into underneath the ute that go from the sills, to the hump and have a t junction a quarter of the way from the sill end, are buggered on my ute, how hard is it to fabricate these myself? also i beleive that its supposed to go along the hump and onto the other side, but mine dont, they just stop, my hump has no support, what should i do about that???

Cheers,

You can buy replacement sections for the ends if its only the ends that are buggered , they are designed to slip over the factory brace.
I folded up replacements to the original size and welded them in because I wanted it to look original on my ute.
As for the trans tunnel , I used a piece of 50x6 flat bar bent around an oxy bottle and flogged into shape to fit into the trans tunnel and welded onto the trimmed ends of the original brace on my 2 door - engineer was happy with that.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
