I have a pair of HR Premier bucket seats sitting in the shed and I would like to know if i can use them in the fit out of my EK with the change to a V6 motor?
Is there a requirement to have a head rest in NSW with a modified vehicle??
Front seats
Re: Front seats
Your first job on this type of project is find an engineer to ask these questions and get the answers in writing.
Asking on here is fine but you will get 2 different answers.
I talked to an engineer years ago that said I could use HR bucket and then another that said on way I need to have head rests.
I'm sure some NSW folk on here could point you in the direction of a decent engineer that will help you, good luck.

Re: Front seats
Thanks for your advice Trev
I was talking with the engineer who will be handling the approval process yesterday and I have established a number of "to do's" with him. I just didn't think to ask about the seats so I will next time I drop into his workshop.
I'm also trying to establish what I need to keep to complete the project and what I can move on to assist others in their builds and help finance my build.

Re: Front seats
Why in hell would you have to fit headrest if you dont have to fit them when those seats are in a HRgnomester wrote:Is there a requirement to have a head rest in NSW with a modified vehicle??

You poor bastards have to put up with the stupidest rules, shift to SA and tell them to f#%k off

Re: Front seats
The engineer I spoke to said if it's running HR gear you can have HR buckets, so I spose if you went for a Commodore V6 I recon they would want head rests, unless you run an original bench set.
