go the wagons....
No probs mate completed all mine on Monday night. Thou I still need to relocate the battery to the lower rear comparments in the back of the panelvan (I have no crimper large enough to do battery leads).
Only cables I had to extend -
Alternator - Dash genie light
- Battery return
Starter motor - Dash assembly feed
Blinker L/R - Leads to bay terminals which were relocated
High Beam Switch - Still mounted on floor ( all 3 cables )
Ignition Coil - Main feed
Oil Pressure - Dash light connection
All other cables didnt require lengthening.

Crimp? No mate, solder. Use a oxy flame or gas blow torch flame and heat the terminal in a vice, fill with lead solder and push the battery lead into it while molten.Mephious wrote:Thou I still need to relocate the battery to the lower rear comparments in the back of the panelvan (I have no crimper large enough to do battery leads).
You don't crimp electrical if you want it done right.
Regards, Smooth
Any time after 10:00am should be awake by then hahahahaha.
I have no Oxy or Blow torch Smooth
, was hoping to get away with soldering the ends after twisting and then crimping them down. Your right thou get it done the once and its out the way. Trying to rush too much crap so the engine can get swapped and engine bay painted.
Maybe one of the signalling guys at work can terminate it for me.

Don't solder and crimp do one or the other soldering AFTER crimping is OK but pointless if the right size lug and crimping die are used the other way round can and will cause dramas if you are going to solder the lugs on the battery leads make sure you close up the hole in the lug near the terminal end of the lug or the solder will run out (dependent on the lugs you use)
Cheers
