RED/GREY PISTONS

Post by EK DAZ »

Hi Guys,What is the difference between 138 red pistons and 138 grey pistons. It sounds like the bores are the same (11/8) Would they be interchangeable?. Regards Daz

No, the bores are not the same.

A 138 Grey has a 3.00" bore & a 3.125" stroke.

A 138 Red has a 3.125" bore & a 3.00" stroke.

Apparently EIP Vauxhall will do the job, but I guess that they are as hard to find as Grey motor pistons.

Try nason engines parts for pistons ...they have grey motor pistons and are very reasonably priced ....I bought a set of oversized pistons 3 and 3/16 for my grey recently ...I think about $300.00 for pistons, rings and gudgeons ..I hope this helps mate
Nason Engine Parts ...2/5 Monterey Road Dandenong VIC 3175 (03) 9797 1115....fingers

PS .......Nason is owned by HM Engine reconditioners
Don’t you find it Funny that after Monday(M) and Tuesday(T), the rest of the week says WTF?

I think they were made from 1954 thru to 1957. The Velox was the six cylinder and the Wyvern was the four cylinder and a few were called Vagabonds ,which were the convertibles, which we never got over here, but I have seen a couple in Aussie, Daz
