oil filter connections

Post by fb cruisin »

Hi guys,

I finally fitted an oil filter to my grey motor, and after running it for a while I have noticed that the filter and return line are still cold  (where the feed line is warm)

So I am wondering if i have fitted the return to right spot
I removed a plug near the crankcase breather but there is another further forward and a little lower :?:

I cleaned/cleared the lines and sandblasted/painted the unit before fitting so I assume that it wouldn't be in the filter itself :?:

any ideas guys, I searched this site and can't seem to find alot on grey motor filter fitment.

cheers Rob

Hi mate went for a run in mine today and took some pics of the Franz oil filter the righthand line is the return the filter housing and return line were both hot on mine so it is a possibility there is a blockage in your set up try removing the return line from the block and pulling the HT lead from the coil so the engine wont start and cranking it over to see if oil flows out If you are keen Austrailian Street Rodding mag. Issue# 191 has an article on hotting up greys and describes how to set up a a full flow oil filter ring them on (03) 5472 3653 they still have copies available about $9.00 inc postage

thanks for the info Craig.
I plumbed the return into another hole above that one but will change it and test for a blockage.

cheers Rob
