Hey team,

Hopefully you can help me with this. I got my new speedo cable today and i went to go put it in (trimatic) i was bolting the gearbox end of the cable on and the bolt snapped leaving half a bolt in the gearbox, any ideas on how to get it out and what size bolt i would need to get to replace it. Please reply as i really need it done.

Also im heading off to Flynns Wreckers in Cooma tomorrow hopefully to get some parts and a parts ute, ill post pictures tomorrow when i get a chance, if that utes in a better shape then the one ive got i may end up moving everything accross and using my old one as a long term project.

Cheers,

Alex

A left handed drill bit will get it out.
Serious, they do make them.
They are designed to drill in the anticlockwise direction. :?
As you try to drill through the center of the bolt,
it will grip, & spin the thread out for you. :D
If it doesnt come out, use an EZY OUT in the hole you've just drilled. 8)

Good Luck
Jeff

.... and if you are too miserable to buy one (like me) - just sharpen a normal one the other way, it will do the job.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hey guys, is there any way of removing the extension housing without having the remove the whole gearbox, if i have to remove the whole gearbox then ill just take out the whole engine and gearbox and then swap the engine with a Commodore VK red engine with fuel injection
