Mystery squeak after the rain

Post by Oldnblue »

Hi guys
I got stuck in a downpour today and had to drive the old girl to work in torrential rain. When I drove home at the end of the day (car had dried off) there was a fairly loud squeaking coming from the rear of the car (driver's side I think).
It was pitch black when I got home so couldn't see what might be causing it. Is it common for something like that to develop due to rain/moisture? I figured that maybe the wet has facilitated some sort of movement between metal surfaces (springs possibly) and will need to be re-lubricated???
Cheers, Scott
