Re: Moon fb
Looking good mate,
You'd reckon for the money those frontends are, that a bit more homework to allow for both steering and engine mounts would have been done. Bloody shame, it'd probably have great clearence if you put the grey back in it.

Re: Moon fb
Still contemplating a engine plate will do some work on it tomorrow night hopefully
Re: Moon fb
Could you make an engine mount boss out of flat plate, boxed with crush tubes that has a hollow underneath to allow steering clearence? Excuse the bodgey drawings but something like this.

Or an engine mount boss like on a CRS front end, but built to allow the clearence required, that I have highlighted in pink.

Re: Moon fb
that's pretty much how my mate has done a few now, flat plate bent that the engine mount actually sits on withtube welded to underside for bolt to go through
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping

Re: Moon fb
Heres my engine mounts mate ....these are SCW standard sbc mounts ..borrowed Heaths jig and welded them straight in after trimming to the correct length.....the motor dropped straight in ....heaps of clearance for the steering shaft but the steering column end is another story ......and 15 mm clearance from fire wall on the right hand bank ...how about some more updated photos mate ........Fingers
