Wanted - FB Hubcap

Post by webrake4bricabrac »

Hi All,

I’m looking for a hubcap to match this one from my 1959 Coronet caravan:

Hubcap diameter is 242mm at the widest point.

According to a 1960 sales brochure, Coronet caravans were fitted with 6.40x13 Holden wheels. I know I have 13” wheels by the tyres fitted.

I have been reliably informed that I need to find an FB/EK commercial hubcap (i.e from a "standard" ute or panelvan).

Does anyone have an identical hubcap they would be willing to part with? The condition is not too important, as I will need to replate the existing hubcap anyway.

I am debating whether to use my EK Special to tow the van (which weighs around 1 tonne). Has anyone else used an FB/EK sedan to tow a van of this size?

Update: someone at Dinkum Autos tells me the entire range of FB standard vehicles had this "plain" style of hubcap.
