New exhaust, which size? 138 Grey motor

Post by Tom118 »

Which size exhaust is best for a 138 grey for added performance? Sorry if this has already been asked, I did a quick search but couldn't find anything. Cheers, appreciate it! :D

Depends if it's stock or not.

If it's a stocker, you wouldn'y go shoving a 3 inch system under it

Hi Tom,

I had a set of extractors & a 2" system on my stock motor & it went well. If you are going to change the exhaust size then I would get a set of extractors or the more expensive but more period looking headers to go with it. The exhaust note is worth the price .

Good luck,
Dean.

It's a stock grey motor for crying out loud...let the poor old thing keep its dignity and put a standard exhaust back on it

2 inch systems and extractors might give a nice exhaust note, but you'd get a bigger horsepower gain by changing the battery in my grandma's pacemaker

for performance about a 2,1/4 or 2,1/2 inch conected to a red motor

on a serious note 1,3/4 or 2 inch with extractors i don't really think you'll notice much though but it'll sound faster that allways helps
