Great service from trax!
Dear Sir,
When a model is advertised as a code 3 it means it is basically a fake. Please see below reference taken from Trax model the 1986-2005 edition book.
CODE 3 MODELS
Code 3 models are those which have been modified or repainted without authorisation form the manufacturer. There are two main categories of code 3 models.
1. Those created by private collector/hobbyists for their own interest and satisfaction, not for resale and profit
2. Those produced as commercial ventured by ‘Traders’, retailers or other agencies. This is in fact an illegal practice and could result in litigation
The existence of models in both the above Code 3 categories is one of the factors which make it difficult to estimate the number of authorized (Code1 and 2 ) models in circulation as unknown numbers of original models have been used to create these variants.
Code 3 models cover an indefinitely broad range and consist of authentic colour schemes, the interesting and the bizarre
Should you require any additional information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Brett Parker
