Chassis Cleaning

Hi Guys, I have a EK ute which is fairly ordinalry at the moment, it is mostly stripped to date. I am wondering if any one can give me advice on how to remove the packed in dirt from the chassis. Further to this, the metal is rusty on the inside of the chassis and needs treating. Access here is the issue as there is no paint brush that long and that flexible and its not possible with a spray approach. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am also interested in thoughts on how to get the paint off. The options are soda blast, sand blast, not toxic dipping and another which involves a lot of hard work. Regards Darren

you can buy a cavity wax unit from most panel beater suppliers, about $70 for the gun ,

to treat the inside with a form of rust inhibiter
you can use a piece of garden poly tube the 6mm dia stuff
with a 180 degree srinkler sprayer nozzel
feed you hose into a suitable container the gently bow air through the end while pulling it slowly
yeah primitive but iv done this on many occasions
works fine and lines the hole inside cavity

Thanks choped and tm50. I will investigate the wax unit, meanwhile I am not clear on the poly pipe method. What do you attach the polly to so that you have air pressure and how do you feed in the rust killer. I have a garden pressure spray unit and this may be useful. I also have access to compresed air. I have not heard of the foam so if you can give me a name I would appreciate it. Any thought on how to remove the compacted soil which is somewhat moist like clay with some oil added. Tuff stuff. I have been using a screwdriver, old kitchen knife and compressed air nozzle. Some parts of the chasis remain sealed, ie no rust holes and I am sure I have more of this soil that I can't see. Would you reccomend cutting/ drilling access holes?

I will buy a 2 or 4 litre of rust converter from the local paint shop this converts and seals at the same time. I will attach the poly pipe to the end of the garden pressure sprayer for extra length. The local guy at rare spares suggested cutting a hole into the chasis from the inner rear wheel arch and at the bottom of the frame at the front door point and using a pressure washer to blast any dirt out of the chasis along the sill. He suggested just using rubber grommets to cover the holes after the job.
