Tim has got it right, but you haven't got the whole "Unbiased" story.

On the economics ...

General Motors Holden spent 7,850,000 pounds  developing the FB Holden. To test the market to see if it could withstand a downgrade (for the forth coming EK model :D :D ), Holden made the FB 215 Poverty Pack.

However, Holden did put a few bucks into the EK .... It was a stroke of genius holding back the Hydra-matic for the EK, to make it feel like an advancement in technology

Anyway, that's the story I got from Sunny Tim 8)

Well there you go, Thanks Guys!

Thats a question that Google did not know, See I always thought that the knowledge here was huge.
Sunnymick and Steve you guys should put out a little book on FB/EK history, on the info that all the other writers left out.

God I love this car.
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital
ingredient in beer

That's a shame. Always wonder what you think it would be worth, Larry Harped and Harped for me to buy it for $7k just before you bought it. Would have but didn't have the moneyvat the time, He even tried to sell it to me the day u went to see it

Couldn't remember what we paid for it, was it that much? ;)

Hard to put a value on it now days. Regular 215's in similar condition are fetching over $20k

I think of Larry when I am on my way to Dr Terry's every time I pass Berala Railway station :)

Sure was a find!

He didn't want to let it go for the 6k u offered but was in a very bad place and had no choice, unfortunately not much later he lost his job.. Think of poor old Larry everytime I see that car.

And I has second thoughts on buying that day too. Specially when Larry started the car in gear and the wheel went over my foot. :x

The car drove terrible and I almost walked away. It had four unmatched retreads  Once they were changed the next day, it drove much better.

Back then when I purchased this car, there were a lot of great FB's and EK's for around the 6-7K I purchased some of them too
