Picked up some parts for the Ute today, got some 14 x 6 for the front and having some 14 x 7 steel rims made up for the rear. They are being powder coated red.

Having some strips made up for the tray not sure whether to put 3 or 5 in on top of the polished timber.

Fleck or paint is the big question now for the inner tray.

Got some nice standard guard mouldings for the front gauds today, they polished up a treat as well.
The bloke I got them off gave me a tip on making moulding clips out of stainless washers will post pics when I get back from work

Removed the old timber floor in the ute today, 50 years of weather had to get the impact driver out. The alarm system looked more like a bomb than anything else. The floor is in very good nick.
Jack is in OK nick will give it a face lift. Looks like a conventional tyre on the spare.
Found a few unwanted pin holes in the top of the tank not sure whether to weld it or use liquid steel.
Extractors arrived today will fit them over the next few days

Picked up the 14 x 6 rims from the powder coaters the look great, same old issue with the wheel studs pick up some longer ones Monday.
Have measured the rims and not to sure I the 215 / 70 14 will fit once I lower the rear 2 inches?
Any advice anyone I intend to order the Maxxis white wall 215 / 70 14 & 185 / 75 14 on the front they are 660mm and 635mm overall diameter respectively .
I also have some brand new 13 inch flappers that I may sell.

Just got home time for some seroious "shed time"

Fitting extractors to the ute tommorrow morning and then getting stuck into the wagon its been way to long

Fitted extractors and a two inch exhaust system the old gray motor in the ute today, what a difference it made. I think its breathing now. Had to bent the throttle linkage a bit to fit them.





Not convinced its worth fitting the twin Stromberg’s or are they just for looks. I have a set in the shed they just need a clean up. Reading some comments here they seem to run on one carbie anyway.
New tonneau cover getting fitted in the morning, not sure weather to flush or pull over like the original.

On a stock motor a single carb would be best, twins look good but will be over-kill .

and i say flush mount tonneau look way better imho

I went the flush mount looks OK, picked up some go fast bits and a gasket set for the 283 for the wagon today, free drinks tonight so no work on the cars tommorrow

if it's not a drama (need kitting etc) to stick the twins on i'de give them a go only a couple of hours work and just see for yorself, if for no other reason than they look cool then all you'll need is a finned alloy rocker cover and job done

Baby Moons arrived for the Ute today, they look awesome, just waiting on the 14” flappers to arrive.
Fitted the cool green dash lights I got from Andrew they make a huge difference.
