Hi Greg,

I've been told nothing below 12cfm.

Also look at this link http://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtop ... =23&t=3336. Towards the end Rosco talks a bit about compressors. His compressor is a 14cfm. He states
you need to know how many CFM (cubic feet per minute) the unit is capable of and at what pressure - most should state 100 psi....

Greg,

The 12 is not a bad estimate, but I reckon buying the biggest unit that your "mental budget" allows. Running out of puff half way through a spray job is frustrating (standing around with a gun and wet panels waiting for the 'pressor to finish cycling up  ). Air tools are also addictive... pretty fair chance you'll want to dabble in grit blasting and other "air hungry" pastimes at some time in the future  :D .

your right standing around waiting for the compressor to catchup when your only half way through a bonnet sh----ts me
l have an old ingarsole compressor and a gravity feed spray gun . the compressor looks big enough good size tank italian made pump
but because its old its has no marking on it to show size, cmf, etc one gauge is sitting on 700kpa l think the other where the
water condenser is sits on eight when compressor cuts out dont know whether l can get anymore out of it by adjusting any of the gauges
