most debated question.

Post by dave a »

i think the question on which way the boot rubber should go on is the most asked question i've found on this forum . so i'll ask it again, which way is best? :?: :?: :?: :?: i can see both ways will work, but what works best :?: :?:

the last time i did it i put the lip pointing in which looked logical (folds in as boot closes) but it leaked (poored in might aswell not have a rubber :? ) then it was sugested that lip pointing out creates a channel for water to run down, i think that is what i'll try this time

or how about jacko show us a pic of the boot rubber in one of his good original unrestored cars that should clear it up as we will then see how the factory put them in

point me in the direction of one that has reasonable floors and is reasonably priced and the 2 door will be on ebay and i won't have to put a boot rubber in

I fitted mine & the lip points outward from the boot opening,
It does not leak at all,
I dont know if that is the 'correct' way though :?

thanks guys we looked at it again today and we think lip pointing out would work best, providing the boot is lined up right. fingers crossed
