Mick,

The following is not a bad place to start reading:

Just how much of it you need to do, and how much is overkill depends on the engineer you choose.

The guys who have done the black 202 swap will probably chime in - their advice will save you a fair bit of grief.

haven't specifically done injected 202 but most engineers for a 202 will want disc brake front, seatbelts in every seating position, heater demister or heated demister, 2 speed wipers, window washers, external mirrors on both sides and possably gearbox upgrade (which most people do anyway) all of these things are required for a 161,173,179,186 if you go to a 202 most then want dual circuit brakes and a collapseable steering collum, unsure about the chassis kit as the 202 comes into the same engine size upgrade category as a V8 up to 330ci and just about all of them want a chassis kit for a V8 conversion you may be right as it's still just a 6, oh some may even want you to fit any relevant pollution gear :?
and ultimately it's best if you find the phone No of an engineer and ask him what he wants as we can tell you anything but we aren't the ones that have to sign off on it, i've even heard rediculous things wanted by some such as side indicators in the front guards :?
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping

hi i have one in mine with no chassis kit
just a fabricated gearbox mount and hr front end,
should be rego ed on monday ( qld )
i have had an ek with a chassis kit and they are really good !
and you get the gearbox mount which was my main concern at the time ( i have since learned to weld ! )

mine was an abandoned project and the wiring was a mess ,
they are a really "simple " efi motor with no o2 sensor, spark not linked to fuel and the injectors fire 123 or 456 all at once...

things to watch out for.....
the tacho metric relay shuts down the fuel pump when you crash to prevent a burn as well
requires several inputs ( google it )
fitting a chrome rocker cover and cool oil filler cap ?
she wont run right if it is vented ......its a motor designed to run a vacuum ( and a sealed filler cap )
and most of them were autos so if you are doing a manual gearbox you need a little brass bush in the back of the crank shaft

cheers !
Remember....this is a recreational activity !
