My Ek's tank is rusted out. It's also rusted in. (Cannot remove the screws)
I need to grind the heads off the screws but I'm a tad nervous. I still smell petrol fumes.I have filled the tank with water but it runs out of the rust holes too quickly to grind the heads off the screws. I guess I'm so nervous because I am a spray painter by trade and I've seen a beater make a mess of himself grinding the side of a tank once before. (The fumes ignited)
I'm fairly sure it will be fine but just after some assurance
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital
ingredient in beer
Clean the holes off , fill them with silicone , do something else on the car for a couple of days until it drys and then fill the tank right up with water .
Try belting the tops of the screws with an aluminium drift to loosen them up. Then maybe an impact driver. or just snap the heads off all of them and lever it out
'The best engine in the world is a vagina. It can be started with only one finger. It is self-lubricating. It takes any size piston. And it changes it's own oil every four weeks. It is a pity that the management system is so f*$king temperamental.'
I got it out. Because it's rusted out I just used a flat screwdriver and dented around the screws. Then used some lockjaw pliars. Easy. And no explosion
