g'day people's...

i get my car back from the auto electrian on monday then its straight to my mate dale @ tubby tyres in kirrawee to get steering, suspensio, & the hieght of the car worked out... hopefully scraping on the ground & a cushy ride... i know i'm dreaming...

hey i'm looking around for a resonably priced panelbeater in the area of sydney some where... as the panelbeater that was doing the car pulled out due to family commitments...

could also anyone who has had their car painted give me an estimated figure on what it may cost to paint...

this will give me a good idea as to how i'm travelling finacially...

also how do i know if my chrome pitty will come out... do i need to take i to a chroming place or is there something i can do first, & save some $$$

Has most of the bodywork been done? Costs could vary from anywhere from $1000 to possibly $5000....or more. I know not very helpful but it is like asking how long is a piece of string. Without seeing all of the car.

If you are going for a flat finish have you considered doing it yourself. $$ wise you will be miles in front. At a guess the ballpark figure for materials and paint for mine would have come in around $900. But the candy was expensive, around $300 of it actually, primer and basic colour, thinners and sand paper took up the rest.

A word of warning though, you get what you pay for. Sometimes the cheapest is not always best.

Matty, I recon the ride hight looks pretty good as it is.
I'd say give the paint a go yourself if you want a matt finish.
My car cost $2500 for a 2pac paint job but I had to deliver the car ready to spray, so I had to do all the tedious rubbing back and smoothing out stuff.

Re your chrome question...apart from pulling bumper bars totally apart there is nothing more you can do. Make sure you make a full list of all the stuff you drop off at the platers so you know what you should get back. chrome plating = $$$...

i'm definately not going to paint it myself... but hopefully because i've chosen a matt finish it shouldnt be to expensive...

chroming will be one of the last things on the list...and the list is long...

trev, i just like the ratrod style... so i'm using the RAT-STYLE as my direction... but i wont be limited to it... as i do like nice interior...
but matt paint, white walls, steel rims & sittin fuk'n low, will have some sort of feel with rat inspiration...
oh' the ride height i love...but its soooooo hard caused by the 2inch lowering blocks she already had on her & she wonders all over the road...

maybe a lead sled is a better description...

I'll give you a tip Matty, flat paint won't necessarily make it any cheaper. It doesn't hide poor prep work..... Realistically its the same amount of work for gloss or flat , only no need for a final block back and buff.
