Vreedsaam Toer Cover

Post by Alastair Saxton »

I am always a bit slow to get around to posting stuff. Africa Timing i suppose.
Anyway back in October I went on a run with a friend in the maroon 38 Buick Opera coupe. We met up at his home near Knysna and then went down towards Cape Town in the mountanous wine lands area. Then a few hundred kms through the dry Karoo area. We ended up back where we began. All this in the company of 35 old cars: from anchient Hupmobile to 58 &*#@ fairlane.
Well here is a cover of our car club news letter that I do the artwork for. A nice selection for you to enjoy. Sorry not one Holden.

I was going for lunch out in Massachusetts, USA in Sept last year when I drove by a free sunday "bring your car & show it" event
There was a lot of cool cars , however this car was an absolute knockout!
A 1949 Plymouth woodie wagon.
Yep, you see a &*#@ one now and then but I've never seen a plymouth one before.
The owner reckons there are only about 9 known ones left in the world

Quite an accomplishment to have a car in that condition as they suffer months of snow up there in winter

For your interest

Paul
