So i'm in Melbourne for a few weeks due to Work.. Which sucks because i only got to see the FB for 2 hours before i got on the plane.

I was thinking the other day about what i was going to do with my FB and if i should do it in Townsville or Wait till i move down here to Melbourne next year.
I was thinking about maybe enabling my Grey to use Unleaded fuel and trying to get a little more out of it because ill be using the Car as a Daily Driver.
Im definatly putting a good Sound system in it. I was thinking about incorporating some speakers in the base of the bench seats in the back somehhow... (Looks alright in my head)

I wouldn't get too hung up about running on unleaded, you can run without additives without any real problems. So far 4 years additive free in my EK's red motor and about 10 years in the roadster's flathead.
If you are definetely moving I'd hold off. The car will be easier to move in one piece rather than millions, plus you won't loose anything. My brothers moved 3 times so far while his car is in bits and he's lost a few things needed, no matter ghow careful he's tried to be.

Yeah, Mick...I'd have to agree with Brett & Jase and leave it until you move. Just hook into the major rust spot and stop it from going any further..wire brush on the angle grinder, rust converter & some paint of some kind (or even grease will do) and it won't rust any further and will be ready for it's re-build later after you have settled into the new abode.
It's a great version of an FB there and will be a fun project to do up. As for additives in the fuel, i would worry to much..if your going to keep the Grey or get it rebuilt you can always get hardened valve seats done later on (mine has when the engine was rebuilt) but in my wagon that was'nt done and it's still going (well the engine anyway) strong after 10 years of un-leaded.

If you're going to get rid of all the rust i'm guessing it'd be a full strip down, so i reckon figure out speaker placement as well as seatbelts and other accessories before paint is even laid down, that way nothing will look like an afterthought.
Not sure what you mean by putting speakers behind the bench seats (behind rear seats or on the back of front seat). Personally i wouldn't rip into the back of the front seat. You could find room under the front seat for speakers but depending where they went passenger footroom might be limited a bit. If you mean behind the rear seat i don't think you'd be able to hear them well so it'd be a bit of a waste of time.

Jimmy, I've got two eight inch kickers behind my rear seat facing into the seat and have no problems hearing it. In fact its the massage seat after a long days driving lol lol

Looks like you have a bit of work on your hands Mick but if you cruise through the forum you will be amazed at what can be done. I'm with M J - lose the rust before you gain the sounds. All very do-able.
