Re: luke and kimmy's ek special sedan
thanks for the ideas guys, yeah i'm pretty confident with welding (well my dad is to let me weld a new drawbar onto his big $$$ pride and joy trailer sailer so a gearstick shouldn't be a problem (if mine fails, i just can't change gear and roll to a halt with my foot on the clutch) so i'll look into it. as for the blocks, i've got 2 of the rear ones, theres a guy on ebay selling the sets (they lift the seat about 14mm so i might put them on the rear and see how they go.
cheers, luke.

Re: luke and kimmy's ek special sedan
hi guys,
with the weather being very ordinary, painting is being held up
so i've gotten a few other things sorted.
got my battery tray built and fitted.

b pillar seatbelt mounts are in.
i haven't got pics of these smoothed out yet but this shows how i did it (for those thinking about doing it themselves.

cheers, luke.

Nice work there Luke... (ecspecially with the saddle bolt
) I take it you will be building side panels to hide the battery?
And I agree with the early comment about the shifter height under the seat with people on it? I trust you have checked that for clearance?
Coming along nicely Either way!
Cheers
Nathan

Re: luke and kimmy's ek special sedan
got the interior and the insides of the doors painted yesterday (well colour anyway, haven't done the black on top of the dash yet)

as you can see in the last pic, the colour will go nicely with the interior trim colours (well i hope it does
)
cheers, luke.

Re: luke and kimmy's ek special - we have colour!
yep, straight off the gun (about 5 hours old) used protec super clear. only got 2 coats of clear on the interior but will be going 4-6 coats on exterior so i have plenty of depth and enough thickness to last a good while on edges ect.
cheers, luke.

Re: luke and kimmy's ek special - we have colour!
got some paint on the outside of the car today, not real happy with the finish (dents i didn't see before colour
) so only put a single clear coat over it so i can get it engineered and rego'ed then worry about them later (rather be driving it
) at least its all in colour now

i'll get some pics tomorrow in the sunlight to see how it really looks.
cheers, luke.
