Hi all, just wondering if there is a difference in length between a ute tailshaft and a sedan? There is a vibration coming from the one in my ute and the theory is because the yoke doesn't go all the way into the tranny.
I'm pretty sure the one i got for it was from a sedan but at the time didn't think it would be any different. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Ute tailshaft- different length to sedan?
Re: Ute tailshaft- different length to sedan?
stock gray motor 3 speed ? if so the same sedan, ute, wagon, van
Re: Ute tailshaft- different length to sedan?
Take it to an driveshaft engineering mob and have them balance it. If the uni joints, engine mounts and gearbox mounts are not shagged, this should fix your problem.

Yeah, Rat- stock grey 3 speed manual, thanks.
Mod- is having that done about as simple as having a wheel balanced? I never even knew it could be done, thanks! Pricey?

As far as I know, you just pull out the drive shaft and take it to a mob who does drive shafts and they weld on weights to balance it. In Perth, a couple of companies which come to mind are Veem and Final Drive, but don't know who would do it where you are. I don't think it is very expensive - couple of hundred MAx?
