I found this picture of the black EJ coupe on the internet. It's got an FB/EK Roof on it by the looks of it. Anyone got any more pictures of it. Would be nice to see from a side view.
Image

Then I had a few hours of quiet at work again on Friday so borrowed a pic of the 'purple people eater' and followed the theme of the Ek with the EJ tail lights. I used an EK front bumper. EJ tail lights and the rear panel go into position (close down on the bumper). The tail lights end up lower than the EK's would have been. So the rear fender piece that takes the position of the Indicator/reverse light needs to get extended downwards a bit to meet the tail lights. Now the rear fender got modified because the crease where the EK beading would normally run does not match up any more. So that has to get dropped down too and extended forwards to meet up with the pressing on the front fender. The EK beading's position is altered; starting at the standard position at the front and tapering downwards to meet up with the tail light as on an EJ.
What a mouthfull, makes sense to me. Anyone else follow all that??

The black EJ was possibly inspired by artwork that Aden Jacobi and i work on as part of a set og EJ based concepts in the late 90's. that were later shown in the Newsledder.
That picture sems to be the only one that has been posted anywhere of it. I was told by someone that had seen it, that it was flat black for a reason. As it was a work in progress.
Be nice to think that it has been or will be finished off, some day

Alastair, your version with the EJ tail lights looks sweet
After looking at it I have a couple of sugestions on some slight adjustments, could you shorten the bumper corners back a little where they seem to overlap the back edge of the Cruzin Skirts. And replace the stock EJ tail lights with a version of the Bubble lenses i made for Simon Telfords Mild Custom EJ

Be nice to see someone do this custom mod to an FB or EK

Maybe so Trev...but at least someone had a go...and that's were true custom starts..I have the advantage of being able to draw what I have in mind before i do it in steel...some can't and therefore have to make it to visualize the idea...
I 'recon you could add EJ rear lights to an FJ with a bit of thought..maybe frenched in with a center light sweige line. 8)
