Some of the vintage speedway guys who run the Repco crossflow heads on their greys use the early model Vauxhall steel crankshaft...requires a little machining but bolts in. You could go that route if you are lucky enough to get your hands on one... they've been hard to find for years now... I know where a couple are but the owners will not part with them. Other option is to have a custom crank specially machined from steel billet, but this is $$$$$.
Cheapest option, as you know, is to turn down the boost as much as possible and watch the revs...
Can't wait to see it in the metal though... I had the opportunity about 5 or 6 years ago to buy a Norman...money had even been exchanged....but it fell through....
managed to spend a day at the shed
bolted trimatic to the grey but ran into a bit of trouble putting it in
witht the injected 202 the motor sat 4ward a bit with the trimatic on the grey it sits back a bit further so i had to cut out the floor hump
also as it sits back further the norman now hits on the steering box
so i need to raise it about 100mm so that means carbs out the bonnet
and i would of liked to keep it all under there

yeh blacky i reccon that would work 4 sure ,the carbs are just sitting on the manifold at moment so maybe once i raise it i could play around with a few different ones
or the other option maybe might be blow through the carbs
but then i need to work out a way to lube the blower
cheers dave

Hey Dave, perhaps ditch the twin Strommies and that manifold for a single 2" SU as what old Eldred himself recommended. More torque and power plus it's all under the bonnet.
Looks great though... cannot wait to see it in the flesh...
