Have a Grey with red motor valves,Wade 104 cam (28/66)in the old language, slightly lightened flywheel, thomas manifold with twin 1 1/2 su's,extractors and electronic ignition. This is hooked to a Celica 5 speed. Front end is Hr disc ,rear standard hr. Changing front seats to buckets with full retrim. Not touching body or paint as it is still in great condition down to the dealer stencil under the bonnet. Will be repainting and tidying up the engine bay though. This is a poverty pack Standard and will look stock apart from wheels. Will post more pics as I progress over the next few weeks. Steve

Very nice car and great plans Steve. It appears to be in exceptional condition and I would take a guess that Steve "Standard" Jackson would rather see it stay the way it is

Very nice,
I think that all our users of this forum have a soft spot for original standard cars (not many left you know ).
The question of course is it wrecking an original or improving an original ?
I know my mind has changed the older I get and I wouldn't modify a car thats not allready played with.
Which ever way you go keep the original bits so it can be returned to its former glory if you ever decide to sell.

Just an opinion :D :D :D

Regards Greg
So many cars so little time!

G'day Steve, your Standard sedan is in very good condition :D , I like the 'hot Grey' idea very 60's/70's 8) . What are the wheel choices you have in mind, are you going to go the 60's/70's era in the wheels as well? If so there are a few options here..wide black or coloured rims with dress rims and EK hub caps, Torana chromies 5 hole ROH's and my personal favorite TASMANS!!
As for the Standard sedan being a 'Pov-Pac'..NEVER! We....like they say in 'Blazing Saddles'...."DON'T NEED NO STINKING BADGES!"

..from a South/East coast Standard Sedan owner...

Scotty.

Wow, one Steve missed!!! I'd hang onto all the stock gear as it sounds all totally reversible so far. And that may have benefits later on.

Can't wait to see how it turns out though. 8)

Thanks all for the replies and comments. Yes it is a really nice original though the lower body has been resprayed at some stage and the interior has been retrimmed in a very average fashion hence the retrim. Steve J has spoken to me about it but it is not original paint. I am not going to butcher it in any way and everything I do will be reversible. The wheels of choice at the moment are an old set of 5 hole roh. I am trying to create an early seventies look. It has never had a radio/speakers/lighter or anything else ever fitted and it will stay that way.Only changing brakes as I have driven restos with stock drums and it gets scary when someone pulls in on you and hits the brakes. Thanks again Steve.
