I was wondering if I put a Celica 5 speed into my FB would I have to loose the bench seat?
I currently have an M21 gear box with benchseat still intact
Any info would be appreciated
Cheers

i'm pretty sure the shift is a little further back with the 5 speed but you can get a shift housing to put it in the same spot as the aussie

HI
TA for the reply and Info
So would I just have to extend linkages to where the shift housing sits?
is it an easy job or would I have to get a mechanic/transmission guy to fit?
Cheers

I have a sedan with toyota 5 speed.
I would be struggling to get a bench set back in.
Not sure whats required as it was in the car when I got it.
Very nice to drive, 5 speed all syncro is very smooth and easy to drive.
Don't think I would try it myself, would also need a compliance plate and therefore an engineers approval, I'd get it done.

The toyoat Supra boxes can have the shifter housing reversed with some little modification and it moves the shifter forward, not sure if the Celica is the same.
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.
