seat

Post by ekute62 »

only a minor bit of messing around and a tight fit side to side unsure if near original holes as when i got the ute it had 2 single seats in it. I'm planning on redoing mine in the near future by reshaping the sides and taking some of the foam out to sit back further and lower also this way i can slide it back and fourth as well. But i'll give it one thing its a comfortable seat and the arm rest is great. My seat has been resprung and foamed up as the previous owner was a shorty like me but driving a bigger car so he had it lifted to suit him so a standard seat may not have the issue except the side to side clearance at the top of the seat just below shoulder height I used a hammer and a block of wood to give it a little love tap and problem solved until i can afford to redo it.

I'll do my best with the pics Adam but I need coaching from my sidekick EKjimmy, lol!

Grille and most front panel work is off along with the right guard and so far no nasties at all!

Cheers

Jimmy was over yesterday and more tear down work continued so 'project ute' is starting to take shape or should I say lose it as more is taken off.

EKjimmy, in true form, called me out when he had taken the floor panel out with some 'bad' news. He did his best trying to be really serious and tell me the subfloor was rooted but couldn't keep a straight face, lol! When the board came up it revealed the most pristine subfloor and inner panel area we could have hoped for - the rear section of this ute is amazing !!!

It's all been redone with no evidence of any nasties previously at all and is coated in this sticky crap that looks and feels like creamed honey? The floor drain tubes and everything else is original and intact and bugger all in the way of dents either. Even the closing panel sections are in good nick.

Once the L/H front guard came off the mood changed slightly when a bit of metal worm showed itself just behind where the lower guard overlaps the firewall /A pillar/ sill junction (where the big subframe bolt is). It's a real easy repair similar to Sams ute.

Shouldn't be too long before we start sending chroming off and get the guard inners cleaned and painted while I still clean a space inside the workshop - some much s h i t in there !!!

Once I have some pics we'll get em on
