Neil's FB Station Wagon
Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
Decided to get a tailshaft made so that I can physically check alignment of gearbox and diff, then I can lock down the engine mounts and finish the gearbox mount.
Final drive have made my last two tailshafts so it was a no brainer to go back to them. They provide an adapter at the diff end that eliminates the rubber donut that VE diffs use and gives you a Uni joint at both the diff and gearbox ends. Not cheap but really great quality.

327 Chev EK wagon, original EK ute for Number 1 Daughter, an FB sedan meth monster project and a BB/MD grey motored FED.
Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
Got into the workshop this weekend and after having the engine and gearbox in and out 3 times I finally got it to where I think it is closest that I can get it to the right angle and the tailshaft again as close as I can get it.
Welded the mounts in fully.
Relieved the chassis to be able to get the oil filter in and out.
Think the tailshaft is close or as good as I can get it

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
Not as much as I really want Clay but I don't have the luxury of walking out the back door and going into my workshop anymore so I'm trying to get as much done as I can.
I'm still waiting on spindles from Stub Tech, once I have the front on wheels the Rev is going to Keith to get the last big bit done, the replacement of the upper firewall and dash.
Engine needs to be overhauled/refreshed soon and then all the rest mate.

Brings back nightmares, trying to get that crease along the top right. Very slightly convex.

Ha Ha Nightmares,
Sometimes I sit back and ask myself why do we punish ourselves with these dinosours, but then reality hits, what else is there to do ???
Good Job Neil, Fun Fun Fun.

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
I may have a patch panel for that Neil if you are interested. I had one for each guard, but used one on Wilma. Will have a look if you are keen.FireKraka wrote: Tue May 19, 2026 3:03 pm Have started work on the repairs on the guards, usual place

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
Thanks for the offer Brett but I have a pair of old Taylors panels that have the sides as well as the top sections.
And yes it is hard to get the top line lined up properly that's why I didn't show the photo of the passenger side I tacked in, got it slightly out so am going to have to go back and cut again, oops
