Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute

Will you need the brakes going West?? Would think the cup holders are more important for your passenger 😊 Point it at the sunset. Engage cruise control stick. Occy strap steering. Use long range fuel tanks when it splutters. Only need brakes once, just before your feet get wet. Cheers, Harv

Improved cooling gaskets - fourth round spares

Ladies and Gents, I’ve now done four separate batches of the improved cooling gaskets. The last three times, I got inundated by people wanting a gasket after orders had closed. I am a sucker for a sob story, so on-sold from my own stash. This time I got clever, and ordered some extras for the lateco...

Re: Chrome plater recommendation

I picked up the parts yesterday from Astor Metal Finishes. This was my experience: a) I had a sump and a 6" long steering arm rechromed. They had recently been plated, but the sump had two blisters and the arm had been chromed over the splines. My plater had passed away, so I needed a new shop ...

Take as many photos as you can Sneezy, and post them here. A few of the guys have partial subframes kicking around, and if you are lucky the bits you need are still on their donor subframe.

Photos of the bar. Apologies for not posting them via PM - there is a 500kB file size limit for PMs, and I’m short on time to resize the photos. There is a ball that goes with it.

Re: Tow bar for EK sedan please

I'm guessing that a towbar for FE-FC will also suit FB-EK. It depends on whether the locations of the rear bumper bracket bolts got revised. Can anyone confirm or deny? Rob According to this thread, FE-EK sedan/wagon are interchangeable: https://www.fbekholden.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=445 The utes...

Re: Tow bar for EK sedan please

I've got one here on my FB sedan. It's an old aftermarket one that I bought from Dave Pagano many years ago (first time I ever met Dave). I gave it a wire wheel cleanup, some coats of primer and then a few coats of grey epoxy enamel. From memory it has the rams-horn type safety chain connections. I ...

Was that a test to check swept volume?

If so did they do it by removing the head and measuring bore and stroke, or by using a puff tester? My engineer threatened the former.

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon

I can remember when the 180kW/tonne idea was floated in mid-2017. Many naysayer's "knew a bloke who's aunt's third cousin is in the RTA, and has the paperwork that it is now law in NSW". I was mid-build on the wagon, and was putting out about 215kW/tonne. https://fbekholden.com/forum/viewt...

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon

From memory, there is no kW restriction in NCOP. I did not need to supply a dyno run for the wagon. Some states may apply one though.

It would mean I cannot have a bog-stock 350 Chev, but I can put in a 308. Nothing stopping me from leaning on that thing the way we did in the '90's when turbos were only on &*#@ Sierras and trucks. A 308 that COME Racing had breathed on was a significant bit of kit.

Same deal with the 327 I now have. It puts out 300kW, and there is nothing stopping me from going nuts with the cam, intake and exhaust to wind that up even more.

Re: Free to good home - MasterParts Catalogue

I miss the days when the counter tops were stainless steel, and there was a row of these catalogues under the counter. Long shelves with steel bins/trays full of treasure out the back. Items that had a "core charge" because they could be overhauled and resold.

I still have the moulds. I tried getting a local fibreglass mob to quote, but they never got back to me.
