Re: Turbo time - grey motor
If I ever get this finished and if it makes a noise like that I will set fire to it myself .......
Early 90's cars with a BOV I can handle. Slam the throttle shut, the BOV lifts and the turbo compressor has somewhere to flow air to. The sututututu noise makes my soul hurt. That's the noise of ...

FE and FC wagons and vans share the same upper hinge assemblies (7411311). FB and EK wagon and vans are bespoke (7412335 and 7413595 respectively).

Re: Turbo time - grey motor
Harv's to-do list
a) Discretely find a smaller top pulley for the Rattler.
b) Secretly find a stronger wastegate spring for the ute.

Sump removal... in car?
Dumb question for today: can the sump be removed from an FB/EK with the engine still in the car? Posts on the forum say no, but Dad's memory says yes. He could be confusing my grandfather's EK sedan with his own FC ute though. From what I understand, you can remove the sump on an FE/FC (by jacking ...

Re: Grecian White/Apache Red 225
Part throttle, a little bit of extra vacuum but not enough extra force to overcome the piston/damper friction.
The ported vacuum is clever.
I wonder if a slightly lighter damper oil (less viscous, easier to move with that little bit of extra force) would do the trick?

We need to get Blacky one of those 200km/h and 8,000rpm gauges for the rattler

It might well see 8000 RPM........
....... once :econfused:  :wtf: :wtf:
It would be the worlds most powerful FB/EK... for 1.4 milliseconds  Imagine the sound of it ...

Re: Are you Bored? Bang for Buck Engine recipe required.
Thanks Harv I am thinking something similar to the Camtech 639 108 cam. Will that Cam make 125HP?
I have not heard many people talking about Camtech cams?
I think when I mentioned Cams with David a year ago or so, he mentioned Crow Cams?
I am not sure if Clives are still developing Cams and ...

Re: Leroy the EK Ute
Curious to hear what coolant folks use for their grey motors also
Repco green glycol @50%. Makes a mess and lets me know when I have a leak. The 20L drums are good for storing sump oil.
Bought some aftermarket Suzuki “blue” coolant a few months back to top off The Little One’s Jimny radiator ...
