Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute

G;day Clay. Does the ute have the tray underneath the engine like some models? I'm a bit rusty on the FB-EKs so not sure if they had the splash aprons like EJ-EH. There might be too much cool air coming from underneath and cooling the engine while travelling. In theory, if a thermostat is working ...

Re: Elle and Clay’s Trip to Temora 2025 Nationals

I just went and had a quick gander at the show and shine in town. Very nice collection of both standard and modified examples. As an almost local ( you have to be here for several generations to classed as a local) I was very impressed with the devotion to their passion. To stand out in the ...

Re: Elle and Clay’s Trip to Temora 2025 Nationals

Open centre diff in the HAMBster. Spins to the 60 foot mark most days depending on track prep.
Trying to upload a youtube clip to show how it goes and sounds but not having much luck.

Re: 2025 Nationals

The other day we were officially declared in drought. Yesterday (22/05/25) we had 35 mm of rain in one day. I was worried the place would look like a shitpit with everything as dry as a government's budget but things should green up quickly.

Re: Harv's FED thread

G'day Harv. I'm curious about the 18 thou gap for the plugs. When Dave did my dissy, he suggested 45 - 50 thou gap for a fatter spark. I run them at 48 and haven't touched them for the last 6 race meetings.
It's starting to look fast standing still.

Re: Towbar - can you identify the difference?

You dodged a bullet there. When I had the FJ ute I tacked the towbar together and then had a certified welder do the welds. I had that ute on the road for 14 years or so and towed my racecar to Queensland and central NSW many times without any issues. If the car on the trailer had no engine I'd put ...

Re: 2025 Nationals

While I don't have a hoist but can probably rustle one up if required, I live in Temora so can possibly help out with minor repairs such as welds that break, wires that melt or dicky little issues that piss you off when away from home. No, I;m not going to solve your marriage issues or any thing ...

Re: harvs ek 327 wagon

Hey Harv. On the subject of dissy issues, I've used Vintage Racing Developments in Epping to build my electronic dissy for the HAMBster. I haven't touched it in years and it has never let me down. He's a nice bloke to deal with, even coming to WSID a couple of years ago when he knew I was running to ...

Re: Harv's FED thread

Looks good Harv. Are you coming to the Nats at Temora? I might take the HAMBster to the show as I just found it has an EK engine in it. Does that make it acceptable?
