Re: Are you Bored? Bang for Buck Engine recipe required.

Thanks guys,
Thanks Harv I am thinking something similar to the Camtech 639 108 cam. Will that Cam make 125HP?

I have not heard many people talking about Camtech cams?
I think when I mentioned Cams with David a year ago or so, he mentioned Crow Cams?
I am not sure if Clives are still developing ...

Can anyone tell if it was running on leaded or unleaded last?

I am home now and I ripped the head and the front cover off.
And the J motor is Standard bore with very little ...

Thanks Blacky,
Yes, I am aware of Harv`s Guru Status, having Purchased 3 of the High Duty Head Gaskets though Harv.
I have spent many hours reading 0.01% of his Posts, on Various Forums, his name pops up everywhere.

I am sure I will be asking his assistance when sorting out the half a dozen BXOV-1 ...

Thanks Blacky,
I will have a look at the Video later tonight when the Boss is not looking.

In regards to increasing Cubic Inches, Galloway do a Stroker Crank, Rods etc that will increase the Grey Motor to around 160 CI.
While this will make easy to achieve the Goal HP and have a very smooth Engine ...

Are you Bored? Bang for Buck Engine recipe required.

Hi Guys,
When I was young I had an LC GTR Torana with a 161S Engine opel Gearbox, they made 125 HP at 4800 rpm. 9.2-1 Compression ratio.
It was standard, it had 2 barrel, GTR headers. slight lope and nice sporty power.
The Torana weighed 1013 KG. My 1955 FB Holden Ute weighs 1012KG.

I would like to ...

Re: Steel timing gear for a EK grey motor

Yes I don't mind the rims at this stage.
I have new Hankook tyres on now but I am going to paint the rims black and fit the FC Hubcaps and maybe some 13 inch dress rims.
I feel like I am hijacking the thread, so bye for now.
I might test her out and drive up Kalamunda hill in a couple of weeks.
Yes ...

Re: Steel timing gear for a EK grey motor

Thanks Guys,
I am in Perth

I have a FJ ute with a Grey and is a 70`s style custom, done in the late 70`s
13 x 6 wheels thus smaller brakes from later models, rear roll pan and Hillman minx rear tail lights bogged onto the rear of the Ute.
I bought it a couple ...

Re: Steel timing gear for a EK grey motor

Thanks Harv,
I did hear sometimes they are noisy to start off but usually quieten down within 12 months.
I will use it for my J motor build.
It was under half of the price of an Alloy set.

Thanks again

Re: Steel timing gear for a EK grey motor

Hi Ed here,
I have just purchased a complete Master set with Iron Cam gear Steel Crank Gear double lip seal and thrust plate NIB.
Are they any good?
Or are the JP Alloy gear sets better?

I like how the Crank gear has 3 keyways so the Cam can be advanced or retarded, not sure how many degrees.

Any ...
