Clutch replacement

Post by graham »

looked on the net and decided to check Repco out about a clutch kit for a grey and they came up the best with a heavy duty kit (220ml) to fit a 149/179 that bolted straight in with no problems. Price at shop $170. Could have got a bit cheaper on the net but for the couple of dollars difference saved the hassles if something not right.

Does that improve the gear change at all Graham or much the same?

I ask mainly as my dad did a clutch conversion on his 28 chev inline 4 to an early model commodore clutch which help immensely with the crash box but there was some flywheel machining required.

I guess the only benefit would be to be able to pick up first while moving - is that even possible?
