LC LJ Torana Diff Wheel Offset

Post by Coopa »

Hi Guys,
Might have been to long of a day but I wanted to check my wheel offset calcs before I order my new rims.

EK wheel track = 1384mm
LC LJ Torana Diff 1370 (face to face)
Therefore 7" rims would require 7mm neg offset to acheive 1384mm wheel track, with a max offset of 19.5mm which = 1409mm to max allowable wheel track increase of 25mm.

Sound about right?

(Outer guard clearance another issue all together :wink34: lol)

Cheers Coopz

When I set my Torana rear end up I put it in the car first, then put a stock FB rim on and checked for clearance on the inner wheel well (which was about 5 mm) the measured my maximum width i could have in the well, then I got my 7 inch rims offset changed to the same as the stock rim and all worked out ok.
Not sure about the increase in track width though.

Thanks Trev, I cant get the diff for about 8 weeks and I was gonna pre order the rims so when the diff arrives I would be able to sort any guard issues straight away.

Having had a good nights sleep I will stop being impatient and do it in the right order, fit diff take measurements and order the wheels, by then I should have front discs & stubs sorted too.
