The Two Biggest Grinners at the Nats

Post by Stygian »

After Sunday's Show N Shine, the legendary beast lay sleeping quietly, unawares...

Image

See ya Thommo!

Image

Stewart (Parisian62) fought hard to tame the savage beast, and kept putting it in reverse...

Image

Having mastered the Speco floorshift, Stew had one of the biggest sh*t eating grins of the Nats.

Image

I'm nervous too, especially when she decided to play dead...

Image

But not to fear, after a roll start in third, Stew and I had the reigns of the beast, and she ran free...

Image

...and right back to its rightful owner...

Thanks Thommo, you made the Nats for me and Stew. You couldn't get the smile off my face for hours. I think Stewart was the same.

Awesome!

I hope you two took note of what was written on the road.

Dave.
I'd rather drive something made of metal, not plastic!

Its an old aftermarket one from the sixties, unbranded.
Probably a Springalex copy.
If it was a Springalex you would see their name on it.

Stew,
Happy you liked the commentary :D . What an experience, eh?

Dakam,
Of course we did

Thommo,
I can only dream of the time that your beast, Stew's Old Timer and Edna are out cruising together, with 9 Stromberg carbies between them! 8) 8) 8) 8)

Nomad,
It was fun!

What really impressed me is how tractable at low speed Thommo's car is. That lumpy 35/75 cam and those triple carbs do not mean a sacrifice in driveability. It pulled cleanly from low speed without being cranky. Plenty of power when needed. Such a great car.

Damn I knew I should've stayed around a bit longer instead off skooting off to the missus
I was stoked just to go for a run in the back seat :D
