How does the wiring loom get to the boot?

Post by Eeek »

I have a memory like a sieve!! I should have took pics when i pulled the wiring harness out. Does the loom pass through to the boot through the small hole in the right hand dog leg / wheel arch or is there somewhere else it runs?? :problem:

It's a bad place for rust and corrosion - the dog-leg seems to get anything which comes down the inside of the rear quarter panel.
I wrapped mine in a few layers of binding tape and then some sheathing just to be sure nothing would rub by the grit and rust scale which may get in there.

Whilst you're at it, I'd also suggest running a few additional wires - they can stay bunched up in the rear quarter, tied up with small cable ties.
