FJ hubcaps

Post by Finny »

Have some reasonable FJ hubcaps which I thought might look good on the EK.
I think they look really good, with a lot of detail.
Just wonder if anyone has tried to fit them before, or adapted somehow....

Ok I've done this on 14" rims on my FJ, I used HG/HT 14" rims and FJ hubcaps.

HQ stock hubcaps, cheap easy to find, fit neatly inside FJ hubcaps, just centre them and I just Tig welded the outer edge of the HQ cap to the inside edge of the FJ cap  Just in four spots, not large welds just spot welds (minimal heat damage with TIG and its all on the inside edge of the cap) then the HQ cap fits straight on to the HG rim like a normal hupcap

If you are using 13" rims then I can't help.

Thanks Mick, thats exactly the sort of idea I was looking for. :smile22:

I do still only have 13" wheels, I haven't looked to see what would be needed to fit 14" wheels, or if further mods are needed.
I currently running HR front and rear ends......
