1974 HQ Belmont Panelvan.

Post by Daveman »

Hello

This is my 1974 HQ Belmont Van I've just restored. My father used it as a work car for around 25 years
and recently retired so I thought i'd give it another burst of life. It was pretty much rust free except
for the floors being changed around 10 years ago due to a leaky heater, but there wasn't a straight
panel on it.

It's been through 2 engines, and quite a few clutches and axles. Would probably have
close to a million klm's on the clock. The colour is Autumn Gold.

During the restoration i used as many new old stock items i could get my hands on or did my best to
restore what was there. I'm now on the lookout for an FB/EK ute.

Model: HQ80170
Body No. 107715-A
Trim: 1875-30 A
Paint: 568-15825
Engine: L20

It just didn't look right without it. Probably because I've always known it with one.

Awesome job, makes life so much easier to start with a rust free car.

Bet the old man is stoked and probably wishing he had done it

Autumn Gold is a great colour

What's the Vin no. ? Is it Adel assembled or Melb?

thanks for that, you have 1 too many numbers in the Production Serial Number is it L270500Q or L270050 chassis should be around EHQ460xxQ and the original engine no QL500xxx

I have a 1 tonner recorded that went down the line 15 after yours, if your PSN is L270500
