***FOUND*** EK Wagon or sedan wanted, preferably Qld rego

Post by mag600 »

Just new to the site but have been looking for a very reasonable EK for some time now. Just hard to overcome that rot!

Anyway, looking for an auto wagon but a good sedan can work too.

As good a condition as I can get paint/panel/interior wise although mechanically I wouldn't mind HR front end/discs or even a red motor if done right.

Right now after being a little disheartened and seeing too many terminal examples the less rust and rot the better.

Qld rego is preferred for simplicity esp for mod plates etc but I'll look elsewhere should the right one come up.

Hopefully someone here can steer me in the right direction.

Cheers :D

Help

Post by mag600 »

Hi again.

Still looking and just wondering if anyone knows or has looked at this wagon?

The bloke selling seems quite genuine (as they all do) and I'm having a mate look at it over the next few days.

Any tips for him on what to look out for?

Also does anyone have any experience in getting mods plated in Qld? Any advice or info on what I'm likely to come up against with this being a NSW car?

Looks alright for the money - and welcome to the forum mag600 :D
Best of luck with your search.
When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

Looks very good for the price.

Check it out carefully.

3 main things, Rust, rust and rust.
And hidden, covered up rust.

The wagon has lots of changes, so all the mod plates for Qld rego.

Thanks Finny,

Yeah I'm having a chat to my mechanic tomorrow to run the mods past him and hopefully there won't be a problem. I'm not sure if there's much difference in mod standards between states these days. I don't think there's anything in there that can't be appoved and plated by him.

The rust is my main concern. I've got a mate looking at it for me later in the week to check for any obvious rot that I haven't been told about and if it checks out then I think I'll be heading down next week.
