well after having the ol' grey rebuilt the thing has been blowing smoke...not all the time but often enough.
any ideas ... what should i be checking for ?
prob done around a couple thousound kms since rebuild would if help if i cahange the oil given that theres no oil filter ?

What colour smoke and does it blow it under load,straight idle or a puff of smoke after initial throttle from a downhill run.

Changing oil generally won't stop smoke blowing.It will blow smoke if there is a mechanical or wear problem whether the oil is clean or dirty.

What sort of rebuild was done on the engine, was it a full rebuild including new valves,pistons rebore etc or was it just a re-ring job.

it blows smoke on intial throttle on a down hill run and sometimes under load ...
i will call my cousin who did the job on the engine ans ask again what was done .
