Grey Motored Speed Boats

Anyone got any photos of 50's/60's boats running grey motor power?
Can't find any on the net and I've sparked a bit of an interest in them lately- wouldn't mind building one off in the distant future.
If anyone could post some up it would be much appreciated.

Yeah I know a lot about that one. I used to own it. It was built in the 50's to a standard 135 class design that never really got off the ground. It has never gotten wet ever.
That boat has a new owner now.
I have heaps of pics of grey powered boats. There were heaps of grey powered hulls back then from social ski boats to 100 plus mile an hour racers. Ive got the fasted one ever raced called Chinook AKA Fast R (106mph). Its hanging from the roof of my shed.
You are more than welcome to come around or I might be able to take some photocopies for you.
You could also go onto that website listed and ask Greg Carr to send some pics.
If you want to build a hull you can buy plans for the hull above. The plan now is called Mucho Gusto. I think I know a guy that might have a set.
You could also build a Runabout,hydro or a clinker skiff.

thanks for the link jeff, i can see another new toy interest emerging-this things just look too cool-so much more character than new fibreglass boats.
A marinised engine-something i may have to learn about for the distant future if i ever build one of these cool things

Jimmy It looks like you are where I was 15 years ago. They are way cool and no two are the same.

My missus likes boats and has asked me, at some stage in the future, to build a mahogany runabout or similar for her... I've been given a &*#@ sidevalve V8 block for the engine...

Just jumped on that link they have a wooden boatshow at the dokland feb 19-21, sounds like it woud be a good cruise opportunity for some of the cars, mite be able to convice the missus into buying a woody
