I helped a mate do mine. Make sure your windscreen rubbers are soft if they are hard they'll crack and break and seal poorly.
Take your time to get it to seat properly and you should be right. The corners are the hardest parts but not if you take your time.

I'm doing my rear window at the moment, been having trouble with it.
From looking at how everything goes together it looks like the best way to do it would be to lay the window down off of the car,
put the rubber and chrome trim around the screen,
put the rope in, then install the whole lot.
Tried putting the window and seal in by themselves and it was TOO EASY, so of course the chrome trim didn't want to go in.
What's the best method for doing this, and if me and my dad can't get it in-
RB, how much is it to get a windscreen guy to do it, and can most of them still do older cars?

I use a guy named Derek. He usually comes to your house and charges about $100. Ive spoken to him about EK's before. He reckons the trick with them is to get a new windscreen rubber. He also says the only one to use are the ones supplied by Rare Spares not Spectrum. Clearview auto glass 45772211

Ive never done an ek before, but Ive put a couple in,
I leave the screen and rubber in full sun to soften
then wrap builders string line around at least three
times, then you have three chances, have to be carefull as it can cut
through the rubber real easy, still need two people ,
if that fails, hit with a ball pen hammer in the middle
and admit defeat

Derek's prices seem to have gone up to $220, same as most other places. Alot won't do the car on site either.
O'brien wants $160 but they need the car in the shop.
Not good.
Looks like im having a few more goes at it myself.....not admitting defeat yet

getting there. it's in far enough for now. the chrome strips are a few mm out of alignment with the body at the bottom of the screen but it'll have to do for now.

yeah the rubber isn't quite seated in one lower corner, gave it a fair push and it didn't make a difference-maybe if i get bored ill pull it out and have yet another go at it.
Thanks for the tips anyway guys-once the roof is ready to be painted i'll probably pay a pro to put both screens in properly unless im real lucky
