Acrylic or two pac

A quick question?

Apart from all the known hazards of painting with two systems which both have their own carcinogenic issues what do most of the HOME painters on the forum favour.

EKjimmy and his sponsor (me) will be embarking on a respray of his 'new' sedan in the not too distant future and while I like two pac I still lean toward acrylic for it's old fashioned practicality and ease of use.

Comments from the floor please ...........

No paint expert here ( I know Jack Shit about paint    ) but acrylic is my choice because of it's similarity to the original finish although a mate has talked me into 2 pac on my chev EK.

Besides being illegal to spray at home, there are far more dangers to the health spraying 2pak outside a controlled environment - ie a commercial spray booth.
You can get a very good looking finish with acrylic - just more work to keep it looking very good.

Yeah - I think I will steeer to Acrylic (again).
I do bikes in two pac and it is messy shit too. Goes everywhere and stays put - to say nothing about it's toxicity !!!

Acrylic is somewhat safer but toluene as one of it's thinning ingredients is a known carcinogen so don't do what we did for years and wash yourself with it
