Heater Control

Was the heat control actually connected to anything when the cars were sold new ?
The air control lever is connected to the intake in the plenum chamber.
Did they actually have 2 levers or was it only the one ?
I thought my original car had 2 levers, air and heat.....

No mention if the heat switch in the workshop manual, so I assume it wasn't used.
But why have a specific "Heat" control if it wasn't factory ??

Two levers - pull the air one down and you just get fresh air coming in from outside, not heated.

Pull heat down as well and you get hot air coming via the little heater core inside the cabin (if you have a heater)

At least that's how it worked in my EK.

Unless you had a heater installed from new it was an option I think( quite happy to be proven wrong, Tim/ Steve). All of my cars are heaterless and have only one lever. I ended chaseing up one on bay for the ute. There was one for sale in parts on here a while ago but unsure if it was sold.....

Mine did have a heater....

All that remains of it now is the lever on the heater control

I think I found what I was after.
It was in the original car user book, not the workshop manual.

Appears that it was an "Option" from new.
If you had a heater it had the second lever, I only have one

I never had the fan / dial.

My heater cable has come off the lever, can someone tell me how it is usually connected? if there was a screw it has disappeared

Yes, I have a cable that connects to the heater hose under the bonnet. similar to a choke cable. I'll just clamp it in with a scew and a washer I guess
still works fine, just have to pop the boinnet to turn it on or off at the moment
