Here's a few pic's of my FB getting a new lease on life. So far all doors and tailgate have been sand blasted to show various levels of rusty holes, they have been metal filled and led wiped (trying to use as little bog as posible). Then sprayed in 2pac etch primer waiting on the rest of the car to catch up. Started to strip the shell to find some old rust repairs using fiberglass in the floor, this will have to be replaced along with the tunnel for an auto one. A trimatic will be slotted in behind the grey motor. Any sugestions or advice will be gladly taken. Trev.

I second What Devilrod says! always budget for three time smore than you budget for, and five times as long as you first thought it would take, along the way you will find a treasure trove of little (and not so little) unexpected suprises!
As far as putting a Trimatic behind the grey! DO IT! You will be pleasantly suprised (as I was) at the difference it makeswhen you are getting closer let me know and I can help you out (having done it before) and put you in touch with the right people to get the gear off.

P.S. an invaluable piece of advice given (on another forum) was that you need to make a list of all of the tasks to be done, and even when you are at your most disheartened, spend 20 mins a day out in the shed working on the project, pick a little job and do it or work a little on bigger job on the list, either way, in no time you will have a major chunk of the car done, and not really missed out on having your life outside of the shed!

Good to see work-in-progress photos Trev.Gives me some inspiration to get off my a*se and do a bit to mine.Absolutely love FB's (oh, and EK's too but FB's are my favourite).I've got to stop collecting and start doing something(3x FB's, 5 x EK's) and none on the road!
Looks like yours was a pretty tidy old girl before you started but like you said there are all sorts of surprises once the paint is removed.
Sort of like opening up a time capsule isn't it.

P.S. Heard nothing but praise for the traumatic.....Ooops.....trimatic.... behind the grey when compared to the Hydramatic so if your going the auto way then it sounds like this is the best path to follow.
Keep on the good side of Matt, if he's done the trimatic conversion his experience is an invaluable tool.
