Removing the steering arms

Is there a trick to removing the steering connecting rod from the pitman arm or idler arm???? can anyone help me......

Standed FB/EK remove the split pin, use a large flat blade screwdriver and undo the end plug then remove the ball end/seat and move the arm to bring it out of the opening in the steering tube

HR I would use a ball joint/tie rod separator
