White line in tyre wall

Post by acotters »

Apparently there is a bloke in Victoria who can add the white line into your existing tyre wall. Anyone heard of him or know any details? Otherwise, where can you get tyres like that?
Any ideas appreciated.
Cheers,
Andrew.

You should be able to get white walled tyres from any tyre outlet.

Dad has white walled tyres for his Honda Shadow.

Ask around, go to Bob Janes or Beaurepairs and ask for white walled tyres.

They should be able to order them in for you

I wouldn't get them painted on, as the process involves grooving the sidewall. This effects the speed rating of the tyre and in my opinion is not really a safe practice.
If you are after real 13" thin whitewall tyres get in touch with Ben at Antique Tyres in PH: (03) 9458 4433
EMAIL: ben@antiquetyres.com.au or got to their website http://www.antiquetyres.com.au/. as most places have stopped importing 13" whitewalls...

Ben is really helpfull and their service is good.

Just a further comment to this ,
Grooved sidewalls in most states are illegal and insurance will be void if involved in an accident.

There are a few mainstream brands that do white line/band walls.
Nankang amongst others.
Or John Cain imports both styles of whitewalls -

I found out a while ago down here in Vic at least that the 13" tyres were no longer being brought in. You can get 14" whitewalls (Nankang, Hankook, GT radials etc..) at almost any major tyre outlet though, go figure....

I have been in touch with Ben from Antique Tyres and he has suggested a white stripe tyre to suit the EK for around $110 each. His service and response was good and quick. Now I must lobby the minister of finance...
Thanks to all of you for your input.
