Inlet n Outlet fitment

Post by Trev »

I done a bit if work on the grey motor for the FB, fitted up the extractors with the triple su manifold (three separate tube style) and found that I couldn't fit the number 1 carby on because of the extractor tube at the front sticks out and interferes withe the fuel bowl.
So I tried to fit up my (Landspeed) twin manifold and it would not fit because it hits the two inner extractor pipes  .
Has anyone fitted a multi carb setup with extractors, if so show me or explane how you did it, thanks, Trev 8) .

Trev not shure if this helps but some pics anyway

are you running 4 into1 or tri Ys
I think you have a bit more clearance with 4 int 1

Image

there is only about 2-3mm clearance from this pipe (2nd from front) to the manifold as you can see the manifold sits around 55mm from the gasket face

Image

you can see the inlet manifold has been clearenced here presumably for different pipes

Hope this helps

Cheers

Gday Trev

I had to add (alloy Tig, inside & out) 10mm plates to each flange/face
of my triple stromberg speco manifold to clear the lukey extractors.
This than had to be all reshaped/filed to look like it was originally,
just spaced out by 10mm.
Even then I had to grind a little under the rear of the manifold to clear the rear pipe.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll just extend the metal tubes on the triple manifolds, Trev 8) .
