Has anyone used one of these looms on thier old Holden??
They look to be too simple to be true... or could a mug like me manage to install one ??

I installed one that I got from Airide, similar thing though. If you are patient and have a 12v battery charger and few simple wiring tools it's not too bad. You use the battery charger for testing so you don't blow anything up if you do get it wrong.

Thanks guys..
I figure with the "destination" marked on each cable every 4" (100mm) it would be pretty hard to stuff up.
I'm a 'lecko by trade so crimping lugs aint a problem.
.One of the first things i do when i look at a car i am considering buying is stuff my head up under the dash or pop the bonnet and look at how the car has been wired.
I have seen sone very tidy looking cars that have had a fortune spent on paint, panel and mechanical stuff .. only to be let down by the original wiring harness that has been "attacked" by all the previuos owners over the past 40 odd years. bare wires, tape hanging down everywhere, loose ends going nowhere , 6 fuses in 2 feet of wire.. you know the stuff i am talking about
I figure for what this mob is asking..... and a few days jerking wires around the car and looming it up neatly. The finished result will be well worth the bucks and the effort to fit one. Especially while the car is pulled apart, so much easier to install then start reassembling

You should be right Trev, my Dad rewired his Cusso using the Aussie Loom we got him and he has never had any luck with wiring and cars.
I ended up having to wire up the new brake lights on his ute when we got them for him last time!

nearly completed my re wire using one of them . all you realy get this the fuse box .. there fuses are not labelled so you need to keep the instuction if you ever need to change fuse ..
also the labled wire is neat but it only a small part of your wiring on reflection i would have just gone to the wreckers and picked out one that had labelled fused or a cover with the diagram on it ..

after doing all my wirring buying seperate bits and peices i reckon i should have started with a kit instead, some of those kits like painless wiring have that high temp chemical resistant wire wich last alot longer in the engine bay.
